VR EScape room

3-D PROP artist

Created in Unity

In Fall of 2019, my team and I took on the most difficult project: working in VR. While the VR software was new to all of us, the engine and the modeling remained the same.

We were able to work in Unity to create a one-of-a-kind escape room in VR. Although there were challenges such as designing puzzles, making the layout, and most of all dealing with software that we learned in a week.

When the player first opens the game, they’ll realize they are stuck in an office. They’ll later find out that there is an entry way into a secret laboratory. The player must solve a series of puzzles in order to escape the laboratory. The game includes one (1) riddle and four (4) different puzzles. Once they solve all the puzzles, they’re able to escape, i.e. win the game.

My role within the game was 3-D prop artist. With our game being staged in an office/laboratory, I was able to create assets that would be widely seen and utilized while playing such as books, the bookshelves, tables, and science lab items.

Overall, the project ended up being a hit during play-testing and was widely praised by not only our professor, but our classmates as well.

All models were created and UV’d using Autodesk Maya
